  2. 2 tsp. hot pepper sauce, such as Tobasco
  3. 1 Tbsp. lime juice
  4. 3/4 cup all purpose flour
  5. 1/4 cup cornstarch
  6. 1 tsp. baking powder
  7. 1/2 tsp. salt
  8. pinches of paprika and white pepper
  9. 1 cup ice-cold lager beer
  10. 20 large prawns, peeled leaving the tip the tailed attached, deveined and butterflied (see Note)
