  2. 1 medium onion, halved and sliced
  3. 2-3 garlic cloves, halved and thinly sliced
  4. 14 oz. can diced tomatoes
  5. 14 oz. can crushed tomatoes
  6. 1/2 cup chicken or beef stock
  7. 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil, or 1 tsp. dried
  8. Pinch sugar
  9. 8 Italian sausages
  10. 14 oz. can artichoke hearts, each cut into quarters
  11. 1/2 cup whole black olives
  12. Salt and freshly cracked black pepper to taste
