Ingredients

  1. 2 cups loosely packed fresh basil leaves
  2. 2 medium garlic cloves, sliced
  3. 1⁄2 cup walnut halves
  4. 1⁄4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese (not the dried powdered type)
  5. 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
  1. 2/3 cup lukewarm (not hot) water
  2. 1 tsp. active dry (traditional) yeast
  3. 1/2 tsp. granulated sugar
  4. 1 Tbsp. olive oil, plus some for the other uses in the recipe
  5. 1 1/3 to 1 2/3 cups all-purpose flour, plus some for rolling
  6. 1/4 tsp. fine salt
  7. Coarse sea salt and coarsely ground black pepper, to taste
