Monte Cristo Bakery

Meet the husband-wife team, Karim and Shyrose Nathoo, our friends and trusted partners since 2007 from Monte Cristo Bakery in Delta.

• Karim’s parents had a bakery in Kenya when he was little but was more interested in the automotive industry.

• In 1988, Karim bought a restaurant and bakery in Vancouver called Monte Cristo without any experience in the industry – not even as a server!

• Through tough times and fine tuning, Monte Cristo began to supply Starbucks in 1994. It taught them a lot and their company began to grow!

• Karim’s favourite products are their hand-rolled croissants and classic baguettes. The baguettes only use 4 ingredients: flour, water, yeast and salt!

• Monte Cristo started in a 2,000 square foot bakery and they have now expanded to a 70,000 square foot bakery with a huge offering from breads and pastries to Panettone and Stollen.
