DIY Chocolate Tree Garnish

Rich and delicious Callebaut chocolate is used to create these festive trees that can be used to decorate desserts.

Step 1:

Chop 400g of Callebaut chocolate and place 2/3 of it in a glass bowl. Fill a pot that is smaller than the bowl, 1/3 full of water and bring to a simmer. Set bowl on top of pot, ensuring bottom does not touch water. Turn heat off and stir until melted.

Step 2:

When melted, remove bowl from heat and stir in remaining chocolate until melted. If there is not enough residual heat to fully melt, return bowl to on top of pot.

Step 3:

Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Fill a piping bag fitted with a small, plain tip with chocolate. Pipe 3" to 4" tree shapes. You should end up with about 16 trees. Let chocolate cool at room temperature or put the baking sheet into the fridge until chocolate is set.

Step 4:

Use the chocolate Christmas trees to festively decorative cupcakes and cakes; such as this Old-Fashioned Vanilla Buttercream Torte available in our Bakery Dept.
