Our Mission Statement
To be Canada's better food destination by helping Canadians Eat Better, Feel Better, and Do Better.
Corporate Social Responsibility
Rather than promote Corporate Social Responsibility as a separate, stand-alone "Look What We Do" initiative, Thrifty Foods chooses to fulfill its obligations to our environment, our community, our customers, and our staff through every one of our operations day-to-day.
The notion of doing what's right - whether it's looking for ways to diminish our carbon footprint, or giving back to the communities in which we do business - is put into practice every time we open our doors, decide which supplier we're comfortable ordering from, or introduce a new healthy-alternative product into our stores.
We take pride in the sustainability of our supply chain and in setting policies that will ensure we maintain ethical trading practices, engineer our stores for maximum energy savings, fund free community programs to fight the epidemic of childhood obesity, and commit to healthy labeling. We do these things to help build the kind of world we'd like to live in - today, tomorrow, and in the future.
Thrifty Foods takes its corporate social responsibilities seriously. Not only by staying in rigorous compliance with all government requirements that regulate food safety and the health and well-being of our customers and employees - but also by remaining vigilant and imaginative, and by searching out ways in which we can do everything we do, better.
